About this workshop
The workshop is a fun and fiery flamenco fusion choreography, open level, aimed to be performed as a group dance during the Open Stage. We'll explore the connection between Andalusian and Arabic cultures, a bit of flamenco footwork, elegant and powerful braceos (arms), body percussion, palmas (rhythmical hand clapping) and jaleos (vocal interjections used to support and encourage fellow dancers). This will be a wonderful time of unity in dance and spirit.

Kia ora! I'm Irina, a devout dancer and a belly dance teacher in the making. I love to blend my 17-year experience in various dance forms into a unique and memorable workshop focused on flamenco fusion. Having studied with various local and international belly dance and flamenco teachers, I aspire to develop a method of introducing more flexibility, fluidity and grace into belly dance, with the arms, wrists and hands being the focus of this flamenco fusion.
