About this workshop
OUR DANCE BEGINS AND ENDS IN A CIRCLE - The essence of our movement will be shaped by spirals, coils, orbital steps & unspoken visual cues… Key Elements: Layered Combinations: We’ll break down the layers to reconstruct the complete combination. Incorporating footwork to arms and hands, including looks, cues & gestures. Incorporating Transitions and Cues: By understanding the subtle signals that guide our transitions we can dance in sync, creating evolving steps and circles within circles Introducing Simple Mudras and Footwork: These elements will resonate with the rhythm of the tabla and the melody of the sitar, weaving a rich tapestry that underpins the foundations of our workshop.

Greetings from Auckland: A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME… Originally from Scotland, my first dance love is Tribal Belly Dance, namely Global Caravan Dance. I’ve immersed myself in this art form, proudly part of the line-up of Global Caravan International, now Master Teacher Level 4 and Collective Soul Level 7. I’ve had the privilege of dancing and teaching internationally, alongside some truly incredible dancers. I’ve continued to immerse myself in learning as my love for dance has grown, studying with some exceptional instructors. And as always I love to bring this back home to share with our Dance Community here. This year returning to MEDANZ from a brief interlude.
